Favorite Verses while planning for a New Year
I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas (or whatever you celebrate this time of year!) I took some time off from blogging and any blogging-related activities. With the holidays and new year quickly approaching, it was nice to slow down and spend more time with my husband and our families.
This is a popular season for bloggers, business owners, and pretty much anyone to get out their new planners and calendars. We scramble for things to fill those blank planners with; events to organize, new post ideas, photography sessions, marketing strategies, etc.
I do not have a ton of plans or goals for 2018, but the few I have will take a load of work! Before we get into the new year, I thought it appropriate to share some verses that are wise to mediate on. Whether you have plans in mind or not, or are looking for strength in times of worry over this new year coming up, I hope you find encouragement and blessing from these verses.
I used the New American Standard version.
Psalm 37:4
Delight yourself in the Lord; And He will give you the desires of your heart.
Proverbs 2:8
Proverbs 3:5-6
Proverbs 16:3
Commit your works to the Lord
And your plans will be established.
Proverbs 21:5
The plans of the diligent lead surely to advantage,
But everyone who is hasty comes surely to poverty.
Proverbs 31:25
Strength and dignity are her clothing, And she smiles at the future. (From the passage about the Proverbs 31 woman – a favorite!)
Ecclesiastes 3:1
There is an appointed time for everything. And there is a time for every event under heaven
Jeremiah 29:11
For I know the plans that I have for you,’ declares the LORD , ‘plans for welfare and not for calamity to give you a future and a hope.
Luke 18:27
But He said, “The things that are impossible with people are possible with God.”
2 Corinthians 9:6
Now this I say, he who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and he who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully.
Ephesians 5:15-20
15 Therefore be careful how you walk, not as unwise men but as wise, 16 making the most of your time, because the days are evil. 17 So then do not be foolish, but understand what the will of the Lord is. 18 And do not get drunk with wine, for that is dissipation, but be filled with the Spirit, 19 speaking to one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody with your heart to the Lord; 20 always giving thanks for all things in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ to God, even the Father;
Philippians 4:6
Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.
Philippians 4:13
I can do all things through Him who strengthens me.
I hope each one of you has a fun, successful new year! Thank you for reading!
