The Best Underrated and Forgotten Disney Villain Songs
In case you did not know, it is “music month” here on Balance & Blessings Lifestyle Blog. I was considering changing the title of this post to “classic Disney movies you should introduce to your kids while quarantined during the coronavirus scare”, but that was a bit too long. 😉 Anyway, being a kid through the late 80s/early 90s meant I got to see what I think was some of the most loveable Disney movies! So good, in fact, that some have been recently madeover into Broadway musicals, and new movie versions.
One of my go-to playlists lately has been songs from classic Disney movies. One day, I decided to narrow that list down a little by searching for Disney villain songs. I was not disappointed! Most might remember the popular Disney princess songs, but do you remember these infamous Disney villain hits? I think I appreciate them even more now as an adult in my 30s. The longer, more orchestrated numbers, voices, and animated creativity that was a part of these Disney villain songs/scenes from decades ago are just as impressive today!

In the Dark of the Night – Anastasia (1997)
I always loved this big villain number in Anastasia! I am so happy Anastasia is finally considered a Disney princess, I had to have this movie mentioned first on my list!
Hellfire – The Hunchback of Notre Dame (1996)
I only saw this movie once or twice, so I had long forgotten there was a Disney villain song in it. It recently popped up in my mix of Disney Villain songs, and gave me goosebumps. I think that counts for something!
Poor Unfortunate Souls – The Little Mermaid (1989)
I know this one is a little more popular and recognizable, but I am including it since it is a favorite. If I had the appropriate voice, I would use this as an audition song!
Heffalumps and Woozles – The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh (1977)
Now this song is one that makes you look back and kind of go, what were they smoking in the 70s? What did the creator of Winnie the Pooh have against elephants? Catchy tune though.
Every Little Piece – Pete’s Dragon (1977)
Another movie I had not seen in a while, but one I loved as a child. I really did not care for the new Pete’s Dragon movie. I would rather recommend you watch this one which has such loveable and silly musical numbers, even the villain’s.
The Phony King of England – Robin Hood (1973)
This one is sung about the villian rather than by the villian himself, but worth remembering! A fun scene where the good guys make fun of the villian! Good for a laugh!
I wan’na be like you – The Jungle Book (1967)
Did anybody else jump around the living room pretending to be monkeys dancing along with King Louie, or was that just me and my two siblings being weird little homeschoolers?
